Every domain name has two parts: the name itself, and its extension (or TLD) — the part after the dot, like .com, .it or .bz. Which one you pick affects both price and how people perceive your site.
Popular vs. country-code extensions. .com and .net are the most recognized worldwide and usually the safest default. Country-code extensions (ccTLDs) like .it or .es signal a local presence in that country — useful if your audience, business registration, or shipping is tied to a specific market. Some ccTLDs, like .it, require you to actually meet residency or business rules in that country to register.
